You can turn them on and off by leftclicking them.
This is an item I made for my server (I modified it for uploading it there) while helping in the CUI discord. It is a good example for using variables
The item comes from The Binding of Isaac, though it's functionality is not the same. This being said, the texture was not made by me. I'll add an optifine model later!
It gives you night vision each tick, so it instantly clears the effect when you unwear it. If you think this can cause lag, you can always add a cooldown to the action!
